EDITOR'S NOTE. Lost Signal comes out once a month, usually 12 to 16 pages, typed in Word on my computer at home, laid out with a lot of cutting and taping, and photocopied at a print shop near my office by a counterman who has stopped asking what it is. Members get it at the first-Friday meeting or in the mail. It is not online. This page is the index, so you know what you missed and can ask for a back copy ($1, or free if you come to a meeting).

I took over as editor with issue #150, January 1997. Everything before that is in the founder's banker's boxes, and he has promised to index it "someday." The full contents of this year's issues are below, and the high points of 1997 and 1998.

Submissions always welcome: reviews, con reports, original fiction, art, letters, filk, crosswords, rants. Handwritten is fine. Floppy is better.

THE CREW

Bylines in Lost Signal are by name or by fan name, depending on who's being modest. For the record:

ShafTommy Shafer. Does nearly every cover, in ballpoint and marker. Draws during meetings. Nobody minds.
Uncle RudyRudy Solari. Nineteen Worldcons, four thousand paperbacks, one very patient wife.
DexDeborah Adams. Our fiction writer. "The Lighthouse Keeper of Ceres" got more letters than anything we've printed.
HazAnthony Hastings. College student, youngest member, defends Episode I with his life.
RoRhonda Buchanan. Filker (that's science fiction folk songs) and author of our crossword, which is impossible.
the Old ManRobert Hershey. Founder. Edited this thing for thirteen years. Writes the history column and corrects mine.
the CaptainAlvin Mullen, our president. Writes "From the Captain's Chair." He didn't pick the name. He didn't object, either.
