THE MOSTLY TRUE
ADVENTURES OF
EIGHTH GRADE

starring Brent, who is DEFINITELY NOT ME
Hi. I'm Tanner. I'm 14 and I'm in eighth grade in Ohio.
Last year in English we had to write a "personal narrative," and I didn't want to write about my actual life because my actual life is mostly homework and my sister. So I made up a kid named Brent and wrote about him instead. My teacher said it wasn't technically a personal narrative, but she gave me a B+ anyway because it was funny, and then she read it out loud to the class, and now people keep asking me what happened to Brent next.
So I kept writing them. This year my English teacher (different one) said I should put them on the Internet so people would stop asking me to bring them to lunch. So here they are.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
These stories are made up. Brent is not me. Brent's teachers are not my teachers. Brent's friends are not my friends. Brent's little sister is not my little sister, even though she is also seven and also uses the word "actually" too much.
Some of it is true. I'm not saying which parts.
(The haircut is not true.)
(Mostly.)

FAQ
Q: Is Brent you?
A: NO. Read the notice.
Q: Then why does he live in Ohio?
A: Because I know what Ohio is like. Write what you know. That's from English class.
Q: Are you going to be a writer?
A: I'm going to be a writer OR an architect OR I'm going to design roller coasters. Probably roller coasters. But I'll write about them.
Q: Can I put your story on my page?
A: Ask me first. Then probably yes.
