THE COLLECTION BY SEASON 1961–62 through 1979–80 |
|
<< Back to Thirty-Seven Years of Playbills Here are my binders from the first one through the fall of 1979, typed up from the index cards. My seasons run from June 1 to May 31, so a show sometimes lands in the season after the one it opened in, if that's when I got there. The first column is the season, the second is how many Playbills I have from it (repeats included), and the third is the highlights. I haven't typed every show, or this page would be longer than the binders. The rest, 1980 to now, is still in the binders. I'm typing as fast as I can. |

You can see what happened. In the sixties I had a little boy at home and a full schedule of teeth, and I got in four or five a season, saving up. By the late seventies he was in high school, Anita's girls were grown, the TKTS booth had opened, and we were in the city nearly every other Wednesday. It only got worse from there, and I wouldn't change a thing. If you have a Playbill from any of these seasons that you'd like to know something about, or you're hunting for one, write to me at [email protected]. I'm always glad to look something up in the index cards. |
