Dress Code
Dance clothes aren't about being fancy, they're so I can see your posture and your feet. Please label everything with your child's name!
The dance shop on the square carries all of the shoes we use and gives Stage Right families a discount if you mention the studio. We also keep a box of gently-used shoes for trading, because I know how fast those little feet grow. |

Mark your calendars now: our annual spring recital will be Saturday, June 10, 2000, at the high school auditorium, with a 2:00 p.m. matinee and a 7:00 p.m. evening show. Dress rehearsal is Friday evening, June 9. Every class performs, from the Creative Movement 3-year-olds (always the crowd favorite, even when half of them just wave at Grandma) to Ballet III. This year's theme is "Turn of the Century" and yes, that means a big finale with everybody on stage, and yes, there will be a tap number to a song from the year 1900 and a jazz number to one from 1999. The drama classes will present short scenes between the dance numbers. Tickets go on sale in May, $5 each, and last year both shows sold out, so plan ahead. Last June's recital, "Under the Big Top," raised $640 for the Fairview food pantry from the bake sale in the lobby. Thank you to every family who baked! |

This is the news I am most excited about. Over the summer we tore out the old floor (it was plywood right over the original hardwood, and it was HARD) and my husband, my brother-in-law and two very patient dance dads installed a real sprung floor. That means there is a layer of foam blocks and a lattice of wood underneath the new surface, so the floor gives a little when you jump and land. Your knees, ankles and shins will thank you. The top is a gray vinyl dance surface that's easy on ballet slippers and sounds terrific under tap shoes. This is why I am so strict about no street shoes on the floor. Grit from the sidewalk scratches the surface, and one high heel can leave a dent that never comes out. Please change into your dance shoes in the hallway. Thank you! |

Two ways:
Your spot is held once I have the registration fee. Classes fill in order of registration and I do keep a waiting list. A free trial class is always available for new students, just ask. |
