The Tamagotchi Graveyard
a quiet place for virtual pets who went back home
(Giga Pets and Nano Babies welcome too)

Hi. I'm Rachel and I'm 13. I made this page last year after my fourth Tamagotchi died, because it seemed like they should be remembered somewhere, even if they were only little eggs on a keychain. My mom thought it was a little weird. Then a LOT of people started writing to me about their own pets, so I guess I'm not the only one.

Below are my own pets. Everybody else's are in the Visitors' Graveyard. If your virtual pet passed away and you want it to have a stone, just e-mail me (see the bottom of the page) and tell me:

  • its name
  • what kind it was (Tamagotchi, Giga Pet, Nano Baby, etc.)
  • how old it was when it died
  • how it happened
  • your first name and how old you are

I'll write it a little goodbye. Please be patient, I get a lot of mail and I have homework.

My Pets

SPROUT
Tamagotchi (green)
May 1997
lived to age 3

My very first one. My teacher took him away because my school made a rule, and he was in her desk drawer all weekend. When I got him back he was already an angel. I didn't know you could be sad about something so small.

BUBBLES
Tamagotchi (pink)
June 1997 – July 1997
lived to age 21

My best one ever. I took care of her perfectly and she grew up into a Mametchi, which is the smart one you only get if you're really good. Then I went to camp and wasn't allowed to bring her, and my brother was supposed to watch her, and he forgot. It's OK, Nolan. I'm mostly over it.

PICKLES
Tamagotchi (see-through purple)
September 1997
lived to age 2

Pickles didn't have much time. My little brother found him and pushed all the buttons at once and he reset. So technically he didn't die, he just un-hatched. I still count him.

MOCHI
Tamagotchi (white)
November 1997
lived to age 9

I wasn't very good at taking care of Mochi because I had the flu the same week, so he grew up into a Nyorotchi, the little snake-looking one you get when you mess up. He got sick a lot. I gave him all the medicine I could. I think we were both just having a bad week.

DOT
Giga Pet (puppy)
December 1997

Dot was my Christmas present and we drove to my grandma's for three days and I forgot to pack him. Every time I think of him I think of him barking in my room with nobody home.

LUCKY
Tamagotchi (blue)
March 1998 – April 1998
lived to age 16

The last one I had. The battery just ran out and I didn't have a new one. I decided after Lucky that I would stop having Tamagotchis and start remembering them instead. So this page is kind of for him.

How to Keep Yours Alive

If you still have one that's alive, here's what I learned the hard way:

  • Feed it when its hunger hearts are low. Meals, not just snacks. Too many snacks makes it fat and sick.
  • Play the game with it to fill up its happy hearts.
  • Clean up the poop! If you leave it there it gets sick.
  • When you see the skull, it's sick. Give it medicine right away.
  • If it beeps and you check and it doesn't need anything, it's being bad. Discipline it.
  • Turn off the light when it goes to sleep.
  • Don't take it to school if your school has a rule. Trust me.
  • Keep an extra battery in your room.

Tamagotchi is made by Bandai. This page is just for remembering.
