My name is Kofi and I am 10 years old and I live in Columbus, Ohio. My name means I was born on a Friday. In Ghana a lot of people get a name for the day they were born, and mine is Friday. My favorite thing in the world is dragons. Did you know a dragon's wings would have to be really, really big to lift a body that heavy? That is why I think real dragons would be hollow like bird bones. Also I think they would

I am in fifth grade. I like soccer, drawing, and reading. The best book I read this year was My Father's Dragon, which is about a boy who rescues a baby dragon, and I think if I found a baby dragon I would

OK that was also dragons. I am just going to put the dragons here so they are out of the way.

These are all mine. I made them up. Please do not use them in your own dragon book without asking.

My little sister Ama is 4. I have a lot of evidence that she is basically a dragon:

1. She roars when she wakes up.
2. She keeps a pile of treasure under her bed. It is all the good crayons.
3. If you touch her treasure she knows. She ALWAYS knows.
4. After she eats my dad's pepper sauce she says she can breathe fire. (She can't. I checked.)

But she is a nice dragon. She gave me back the green crayon so I could finish the Storm Gobbler. That is why he is green. Thank you Ama.

My grandfather lives in Ghana. I call him Nana. We call him on Sundays with a phone card, and it is so far away that there is a little wait before he hears you, so you have to take turns talking or you both talk at the same time and then you both laugh. Nana tells me stories on the phone. I always ask for a dragon story and he always says "Next time" and then tells me an Anansi story instead. Anansi is a spider who tricks everybody. I like Anansi a lot. But I am still waiting for the dragon one, Nana, if you ever read this.

When I visit Ghana I am going to tell Nana all my dragon stories in person, and there won't be any wait.

I play defense. Coach says I am good at getting in the way. I think that is because I play like a dragon guarding treasure, and the treasure is the goal. This summer my dad took me to see the Crew at their new stadium and it was so loud. Nana says Ghana's team is called the Black Stars, which is almost as cool as a dragon name.

I am Kofi. I am 10. I like my family, soccer, and dragons. That is everything. I did it!
