FURBY NEWS for Dec. 20!!! Mom called THREE MORE STORES this weekend and NONE of them have Furbys. Not even one. The lady at one store said they get a few on the truck and they're gone before the doors even open. So Santa is my only hope now. I put an extra cookie on my list for him. I'm not saying it's a bribe. It's just a cookie. I'll tell you if I got one!!! Check back after Christmas!!!

Hi!!! My name is Christina and I'm 9 and I'm in 4th grade. I like horses, drawing, my cat Mittens, and FURBYS. I like Furbys the most. This is my page about Furbys and about whether or not I'm getting one for Christmas, which I hope I am!!! My dad helped me put it on the Internet. I picked all the colors myself.

What Is a Furby??? If you don't know what a Furby is, where have you BEEN??? OK here's what it is: It is a furry little creature that is kind of like an owl and kind of like a hamster but really it's just a Furby. It came out in October. It costs about $35, if you can find one, which you can't. It's made by Tiger Electronics. Its eyes open and close and its ears move and it TALKS. When it's new it talks in its own language, which is called Furbish. Then the more you play with it, the more it starts to talk in English! It's like it's learning from you!!! If you have two Furbys, they can talk TO EACH OTHER. There's a thing between their eyes that they use. You feed it by pushing on its tongue. It's pretend eating. Don't put actual food in there!

My Friend Cortney Has One!!! Cortney is my best friend and her grandma got her a Furby the FIRST WEEK, before anybody knew they were going to be sold out. LUCKY. It's white and gray and she named it Sugarplum. I've been over to her house four times to play with it. Here is what I know from Sugarplum: It wakes up and says stuff in Furbish and moves its ears. When you tickle it, it laughs. It likes it when you pet it. It says one or two English words now! Cortney says it's learning. I think she's teaching it. When it's tired it goes to sleep. Me and Cortney try to be quiet but it's hard.

Furbish Words I Know I'm learning them from Sugarplum! Me and Cortney write down what it says in a notebook and try to figure out what it means. We have a whole page already but we're not SURE about any of them yet. When I know them for sure I'll put them here. COMING SOON!!!

The Stores My Mom Called My mom is the best. She called a LOT of stores. (She said not to put the names of the stores so I'm not.) Store What they said The big toy store at the mall Sold out. Maybe some on Tuesday. (Tuesday: NO.) The discount store by the highway Sold out. People line up before it opens on truck days. The OTHER discount store They haven't had one since October. The department store The lady laughed. Mom said she laughed nicely. The electronics store Sold out. The drugstore They don't even sell Furbys. Mom asked anyway, just in case. The toy store downtown Sold out, and they have a waiting list, and the list is sold out too. My mom saw a Furby in the newspaper ads for $250!!! That's more than seven times what it costs in the store. My dad said that's crazy and nobody needs a talking toy that bad. I need one that bad. But I'm not allowed to spend $250. I have $41 saved.

My Letter to Santa Dear Santa, How are you? How is Mrs. Claus and the reindeer? I have been really good this year. I got all S's on my report card except one N in talking. I am working on it. This year I only want ONE thing and that is a Furby. Any color is OK. I know they are sold out everywhere but I think the elves can make them because you have the best elves. If you can't, I understand. But please try. If you have extra, my friend Samantha at school wants one too. I will leave cookies AND carrots. Thank you!!! Love, Christina P.S. Mittens says hi.

The Colors I Want White, like Sugarplum, so they can be sisters. Anything with gray. Any color in the whole world. I would even take a brown one. I would love it the same.

Furby News (older) Dec. 13 - Cortney's Furby said a word in English when I was there!!! I think it was "hungry" but Cortney thinks it was something else. Dec. 5 - Me and Mom went to two stores. No Furbys. We got hot chocolate though. Nov. 29 - Mom said the stores were crazy the day after Thanksgiving. She didn't even try. Nov. 22 - I made my page!!!
