| My granddaughter says everybody on the Internet has an "about me" page and I should have one. I have been a tool-and-die machinist for thirty-nine years. I don't know how to write about myself. I do know how to take inventory. Here it is. |

NOTES, SHOP: I work at a twelve-man job shop on the south side, near the airport. Cinder block, no windows worth mentioning, two Bridgeport mills older than my kids and a wire EDM machine we bought in '94 that is smarter than all twelve of us. I make dies. A die is the thing that makes the thing. Nobody ever sees my work, and if I did it right nobody ever will. That suits me. I plan to retire at 62. I planned to retire at 55, too. NOTES, LORENA: We were married in June of 1963 in her mother's church in Newton, Kansas. She was the smart one then and has kept the title. She taught second grade for thirty years, which means she has more patience than I do (see GM-0006) and better handwriting. She runs the house, the Altar Society and me, in that order. She checked this page for spelling and found two errors and my reading glasses. Condition: excellent. Not for sale. Not that anybody's asked. |
