Katherine Suttles, Class of 1944
Now of Sioux Falls, South Dakota · July 9, 1996
My granddaughter drove me out for the whole weekend and I am still tired and still smiling. I was one of the children who collected milkweed pods in the war, and I was pleased to see that in your history. Thank you, Lillian, and thank you all.

Edwin Daigneault, Class of 1957
Now of Mesa, Arizona · July 21, 1996
Couldn't make it home this year on account of my hip, so I've mailed a check for a plate and two cookbooks. My mother's rhubarb custard pie is in there, page 212, under my sister's name. Tell whoever is in charge of the time capsule to put in a jar of chokecherry jelly.

Reba Bradberry, would have been Class of 1938
Now of Yakima, Washington · August 30, 1996
My family left Merrill Creek in the spring of 1936, after the second grasshopper summer, with everything we owned in a Model A and a trailer. I finished school out here. My grandson found your page and read me the chapter on the dust out loud, and I had to ask him to stop for a minute. It was just like that. I'm glad the town is still there. I always wondered.

Garland Cline, Class of 1958
Now of Aurora, Colorado · October 13, 1996
Any word on the parade photos? I rode on the Class of '58 float, the one with the hay bales that came apart at the corner by the bank, and my wife says she won't believe it until she sees a picture.

Darlene Compton, Class of 1954
Now of Minneapolis, Minnesota · January 26, 1997
My plate came just before Christmas, packed better than my good china was when we moved, and it's hanging in the dining room. Everyone who comes in asks where Merrill Creek is. I tell them it's where I'm from.

Donald Cunningham, Class of 1951
Now of Omaha, Nebraska · May 4, 1997
When will the time capsule list go up? I put my dad's depot agent's cap in, the one he wore for thirty-one years, and my children want to see it written down somewhere official.

Larry Godsey, the old building K through 8, then Class of 1974 at the consolidated school
Now of Rapid City, South Dakota · September 7, 1997
I was in eighth grade the year they closed the high school, so I never got to graduate from Merrill Creek and I wasn't sure I counted for the all-school reunion. I went anyway and nobody threw me out. Best weekend I've had in years. When's the 101st?

Betty Eden, Class of 1958
Now of Glendale, Arizona · March 22, 1998
Garland Cline, is that you? I was on that float too, and the hay bales came apart because you sat on the wrong end. I have a picture. I'll send it to Lillian if the committee is still putting up the parade photos. Is anybody still running this page?

Janice Deberry, Class of 1969
Now of Overland Park, Kansas · November 8, 1998
Second-to-last class! Sorry I missed the big weekend; my oldest was getting married that same weekend. Still hoping to see the parade photos, and the time capsule list too. My classmates tell me we put a copy of our senior class picture in it.

Shirley Dickey, Class of 1955
Now of Fargo, North Dakota · June 27, 1999
Three years ago this weekend. I still have my centennial button on my bulletin board. My cousin tells me the new shelter roof looks very nice and that the flagpole is still standing, which means the time capsule is too. Hello to anyone from the Class of '55 who reads this.

Garland Cline, Class of 1958
Now of Aurora, Colorado · August 15, 1999
Betty Eden, I did NOT sit on the wrong end. Send me that picture and we'll settle it. I've written the committee address twice about the parade photos and no answer. If anybody knows whether they're still coming, put it here.
