Ok everybody, these are the REAL rules. Mr. B and I went over every one of them and they are
all here for a reason (usually a reason with a name, from a past year, that we won't say). You and
a parent sign the permission form saying you read these, so please actually read them!!

THE BUS RULES |
- THE BUS LEAVES AT 3:15. From the gym doors. Not 3:16. If you're not on it, you're not
going, and you don't get your money back for that trip.
- NO SWITCHING SEATS. You pick your seat on trip #1 and that's your seat for all six
trips, there AND back. Your bus captain counts heads off the seat chart, and when it's dark and
everybody's in the same black jacket that's the only way it works.
- Bus captains are in charge on the bus (after Mr. B and the chaperones). Paul has Bus 1,
Antonio has Bus 2. When they say quiet for attendance, be quiet for attendance.
- BUDDY SYSTEM. Nobody skis or rides alone. Tell your buddy where you're going, and if you
get separated, meet at the lodge fireplace.
- CHECK-IN at 7:15 at the lodge fireplace with your bus captain. Just show your face and go
back out. It takes 30 seconds.
- BACK ON THE BUS BY 9:45. The bus pulls out at 9:45 and we are back at school by
11:30 p.m. Your ride has to be in front of the gym at 11:30. Mr. B waits with the last
kid every time, but he has a family too, so be nice to Mr. B.
- LATE TO THE BUS = PARENT PICKUP. If you miss the bus at the hill, Mr. B calls your
parents from the pay phone in the lodge and they come get you. That's a three-hour round trip for
them, and you sit out the next trip. It happened once last year. It won't happen this year. Right?
- HELMETS ARE ENCOURAGED FOR SNOWBOARDERS (and skiers, and anybody going in the terrain
park). If you have one, wear it. They're not dorky. You know what's dorky? A concussion.
- Beginners take the lesson on trip #1. It's free. Everybody falls down. Everybody.
- Ski and ride in control, and stay on the runs that are open. If the ski patrol takes your
ticket, you're done for the night and you sit in the lodge until the bus leaves.
- Lost lift ticket = buy a new one. Put it on your jacket zipper the second you get it and
don't take it off.
- School rules apply on the bus and at the hill. All of them. You know which ones.
- Headphones only. Bring your Walkman or your CD player if you want, but nobody else wants
to hear your music. And the school isn't responsible if it breaks or gets lost, so maybe don't bring
the expensive one.
- Leave the bus cleaner than you found it. Take your trash and your wet stuff. The bus
drivers are the nicest people on earth and they deserve it.

THE PACKING LIST |
Print this out and check things off on Thursday night!! It is SO much colder at night than you
think. When the sun goes down it can drop 10 degrees in an hour.
| WEAR IT |
| [ ] | Long underwear, top AND bottom. Not cotton if you can help it. |
| [ ] | A fleece or a wool sweater (layers!!) |
| [ ] | Waterproof jacket and snow pants. NO JEANS. I'm serious. Wet frozen jeans are the worst. |
| [ ] | ONE pair of ski socks. One thin warm pair is warmer than two pairs squished in your boots. |
| [ ] | Hat (it can go under your helmet) |
| [ ] | Neck warmer or a scarf you can tuck in (no long ends on the chairlift!) |
| BRING IT |
| [ ] | Goggles with clear or yellow lenses (it's dark out, sunglasses are useless) |
| [ ] | Mittens or gloves, PLUS a spare pair. Mittens are warmer. |
| [ ] | Helmet if you have one |
| [ ] | Your school ID (you need it to get your lift ticket from your bus captain) |
| [ ] | $10 to $15 for the lodge. Hot chocolate is $1.50 and fries are $2.50 and you WILL want both. |
| [ ] | Quarters for the pay phone and the lockers |
| [ ] | Lip balm (with sunscreen in it, your lips get windburned even at night) |
| [ ] | Hand warmers (Molly always has extra but don't count on it) |
| [ ] | A snack for the bus ride home. You will be STARVING. |
| [ ] | Dry clothes and dry socks for the ride home, in a bag |
| [ ] | A plastic grocery bag for your wet stuff (the bus driver thanks you) |
| [ ] | Your permission form (trip #1 only, but no form, no bus!!) |
| [ ] | OPTIONAL: a disposable camera. Somebody has to get pictures that aren't in Mr. B's shoebox. |
