LOOSE LEAF is written by you. If you're 13 to 19 and you write stories, poems, rants, reviews, lists, or anything else, we want to see it. Here's how it works:

1. E-mail it to [email protected]. Paste it right into the e-mail. Please don't send attachments, Bea's computer thinks every attachment is a virus (sometimes it's right).
2. Tell us your first name, your age, and your state (or province, hi Manitoba). That's how we'll print it. We NEVER print last names, towns, or schools. That's the rule, no exceptions, even if you ask.
3. Keep it PG. Sad is okay. Angry is okay. Weird is GREAT. Gross and mean are not okay.
4. Stories: under 1,000 words please. Poems: any length, but if it scrolls for a whole minute we might ask you to pick your favorite part.
5. It has to be yours. No song lyrics, no copying something from a book, no poem your cousin wrote. We can tell. (Okay, we can't always tell, but you'll know.)
6. We might not use everything. We get more than we can fit. If we don't use yours one month we might use it the next. If we don't use it at all, keep writing anyway. Hannah sent us four poems before her first one got in, and now she's in every issue.
7. We might fix spelling. We won't change your words without asking.

COMING UP:
October: the Halloween issue. Scary stories, creepy poems, your best costume ever. Deadline is Monday, September 27.
November: the Thankful issue (it's corny, we know, do it anyway).
December: our one-year anniversary + a Y2K special. Tell us where you'll be at midnight.
