Every strip so far, oldest first, the way a record plays: start at the outside and work in. All four on one page come to about 186K, so on a modem this takes a minute. Put a record on. TRACK LISTING |

#1 TWO BOXES Saturday, September 4, 1999 |
![]() Big version (640 x 673, 110K) |
|
The first one. It isn't every day, really. It's most
weeks. Daniel always pays fair for those boxes. He says you should never get a bargain
off somebody's bad day. Elisabeth said the first line in the
last panel and Daniel said the second, just like that, and then we went back to work.
The records were good. They're in the bins now. [top] [next >] |

#2 DA-DA-DUM-DUM Saturday, September 11, 1999 |
![]() Big version (640 x 673, 110K) |
|
Elisabeth gets this about three times a week, and
she has decided it's every song. She isn't wrong. I got this one on the second try.
People think seven years of retail means knowing a lot of records. Mostly it means
knowing how people hum. [< prev] [top] [next >] |

#3 SAVING UP Saturday, September 18, 1999 |
![]() Big version (640 x 673, 115K) |
|
He's about fourteen. He comes in after school, puts
the headphones on and listens with his eyes closed, one record after another. He has
never bought anything, and nobody minds. Panel 4 is what I saw from the register on
Thursday. I asked Daniel about it after. He said he had no idea what I was talking
about, and went in the back. [< prev] [top] [next >] |

#4 ONE MORE Saturday, September 25, 1999 |
![]() Big version (640 x 673, 91K) |
|
The last record of the night. I'd been trying to
draw this one since before strip #1, and it's the one I'm least sure of and like best.
There's more about it under the strip on the front page. [< prev] [top] [newest >] |
