RULES
THIS IS MY PAGE. I'M NOT GOING TO EXPLAIN IT. IF YOU WANTED A PAGE THAT EXPLAINS ITSELF THERE ARE LIKE A MILLION OF THEM. GO READ ONE.
THE BAND: LOSS PREVENTION ![]()
DANNY – guitar, yelling
MARCO – bass, borrowed amp
BIG STEVE – drums. he's 5'4". that's the joke. don't bring it up.
We've played six shows. Four in backyards, one at a VFW hall, and one that the cops broke up after three songs, which I'm counting as a good review.
SONGS: "Food Court." "Anchor Store." "Two Chords Is Plenty." "Your Dad's Minivan (Is Our Tour Bus)."
We recorded a demo on Marco's 4-track in his garage. Six songs, eleven minutes. Three bucks at shows, free if you're broke. No, it's not on the internet. Come to a show.
RECORDS THAT MATTER (ON VINYL, OBVIOUSLY)
RAMONES – RAMONES (1976). Fourteen songs in under thirty minutes. That's called efficiency.
THE CLASH – LONDON CALLING (1979). A double album with no bad sides. Name another one. You can't.
BLACK FLAG – DAMAGED (1981). From Hermosa Beach, which is basically next door. Play it louder than you think you should.
DESCENDENTS – MILO GOES TO COLLEGE (1982). "Suburban Home" is the most honest song ever written about where I live.
X – LOS ANGELES (1980). If you live in Southern California and don't own this, move.
BUZZCOCKS – SINGLES GOING STEADY (1979). Punk you can hum. Don't tell anybody I said hum.
MY JOB
I work at Needle Drop Records on 4th Street. $5.75 an hour plus 20% off, so basically I'm paying them to work there. Best job in Long Beach. I get to put on whatever I want, and whatever I want is loud.
No, we don't have the boy band you're looking for. Try the mall. (See below.)
THE MALL (A RANT)
The mall is the same mall in every city in America. Same pretzel. Same jeans. Same "alternative" store selling you an $18 chain wallet so you can look like you've never been to a mall.
You know what else costs $18? THREE USED RECORDS. Or a show and a burrito. Or half a skateboard deck. Buy records. Go to shows. Stand in a parking lot with your friends like a normal person. Just don't go to the mall and buy rebellion in a bag with a handle on it.
That's it. That's the rant.
