My canasta ladies! It was my turn to have them, so we set up the big table on the lanai. Facing the camera, that's me. On the left in the visor is Mary Roberts, who keeps score because she can add faster than the rest of us put together. On the right, laughing, is Carmela Zager, who had just laid down a canasta and wanted everyone in Ohio to know it. With her back to you in the lavender sweater is Magnolia Carpenter, who is 85 and wins more than any of us. We play partners with two decks, and we have been playing every Tuesday since 1991, except for funerals. Carmela and I lost, if you are wondering. Mary says I should mention that.
This is my porch at night, ten minutes before the camera stops. The yellow light is a bug light, which is supposed to keep the bugs away and does not. The gentleman in Ontario wrote that this is his favorite picture because it looks so peaceful. It is peaceful. It is also 80 degrees at 9 o'clock at night, which is why I'm inside with the air conditioning. |
