Trophy   Standings after Week 3 are up!   Trophy

Hi bowlers! This is Bev Ostrander, your league secretary for the fourth year running (nobody else would take it, hon, you know how it goes). My grandson set this page up for me over the summer so that you all can check the standings without calling the lanes and tying up Irene at the front desk. I type the recap in every Wednesday morning from the printout. If you see a mistake it's probably mine, so catch me at the ball return and I'll fix it.

BRAGGING RIGHTS
Big Stan Wojcik picked up the 7-10 split in Week 2!! Lane 9, second game, 6th frame. He threw it hard enough to knock the 7 across into the 10 and then stood there with his arms up like he'd won the lottery. Irene says it's the first one she's seen picked up at Starlite since they put in the new masking units. Stan is buying for his team for the rest of his natural life, I'm told.

Nobody has a 300 yet. Walt got the first eight in a row in Week 1 and then left the 4 pin. Thirty people groaned at once. It was a very Tuesday moment.

LEAGUE RULES IN A NUTSHELL
  • Handicap is 90% of 210. Until you have 12 games in this season we use your book average from last year.
  • New bowlers with no average bowl their first 3 games scratch, then we figure you from there.
  • Absent bowler: your average minus 10. Blind with no average: 120.
  • Weekly fee is $13, which covers your three games and the prize fund. Pay Lou, not me. I only take complaints.
  • Practice starts at 6:50. First ball at 7:00. We mean it this year.
  • Subs are welcome, just have them bring their ABC or WIBC card. If you need a sub, e-mail me and I'll send you the sub list.
  • Position round the last week of each third. The banquet is in May at the Knotty Pine, and the prize fund gets split then.
OFFICERS
President: Ray Tedesco
Vice President: Pam Hutchins
Secretary: Bev Ostrander (me!)
Treasurer: Lou Barrera
Sergeant at Arms: Big Stan (who else)

Starlite Lanes is out on Route 9 past the Kmart. Cosmic bowling Friday and Saturday nights, but that's not us, we're in bed.
