SEPTEMBER 1999
last month's Horror-Scopes, and how Madame Bobbie did

Every month I go back and grade myself, because unlike the lady in the Sunday paper, I can take it. Scores come from you all by e-mail and from whoever was in my chair that week. A twinkling star means it came true for at least one person who wrote in.

ARIES — You will clean out the garage this month and find a box you packed in 1986. You won't open it. You'll put it back.
HOW I DID: * Came true for four of you. One of you opened it. It was cassette tapes. You put it back.
TAURUS — Someone will move your chair at work two inches to the left. You will put it back before you sit down.
HOW I DID: * Everybody wrote in. Every single Taurus.
GEMINI — You will be on the phone with your sister for an hour and the whole time you'll also be watching TV and folding towels.
HOW I DID: * A Gemini in Perrysburg says she was also eating soup. I'm counting it.
CANCER — You will keep the plastic bread tie off a loaf of bread "because you never know."
HOW I DID: * One of you sent me a list. You have 212 bread ties. Honey. You DO know. You will never need 212 bread ties.
LEO — You'll get a new haircut and wait for people to notice. They won't, and you'll mention it yourself by Tuesday.
HOW I DID: Missed! A Leo came in to see me and everybody at his work noticed his haircut. I'd like to say that was the stars. That was me.
VIRGO — Happy birthday. You will reorganize the kitchen junk drawer and it will be the best part of your weekend.
HOW I DID: * Three Virgos wrote in to say it was the best part of their month.
LIBRA — Someone will ask you "where do you want to eat?" and you will say "I don't care, anywhere," and you'll mean it, and you'll be lying.
HOW I DID: * I'm a Libra. It came true in my own car on Labor Day.
SCORPIO — You'll read this and decide I'm wrong about you.
HOW I DID: * Came true instantly for every Scorpio on earth. Easiest one I ever wrote.
SAGITTARIUS — You'll leave the house for "a quick errand" and come back four hours later with a canoe paddle.
HOW I DID: Half credit. It was a folding table. Still.
CAPRICORN — You'll check the weather three times before a picnic and bring an umbrella anyway, and it will be sunny, and you'll be quietly disappointed.
HOW I DID: * It rained on one Capricorn's picnic and she said it was the happiest she'd been all summer.
AQUARIUS — You'll explain something you read on the Internet at a family dinner, and your uncle will ask what the Internet is for, and you won't have a good answer.
HOW I DID: * Came true at my own Labor Day cookout. Uncle Gib is still waiting on an answer.
PISCES — You'll walk into a room and forget why. Then you'll walk back out and remember. Then you'll walk back in and forget again.
HOW I DID: * A Pisces in Sylvania says this happened to her while she was reading it.

September score: 10 and a half out of 12
August was 9. July was 11, but July was easy, everybody was sunburned.
