The Order

Home  |  The Order  |  How We Play  |  The Ledger

Eight names. In Myth everybody picks a side they like better, Light or Dark, but on a team night you play whatever the captain hands you, so "favorite side" mostly tells you what a man complains about when he doesn't get it. "Specialty" is the thing we let him do because he's better at it than the rest of us.

HANDLE SIDE SPECIALTY AND REMARKS
Sexton
founder, Feb. '99
Boise
Light Captain most nights. Hands out the units, runs the journeymen, and watches everybody else's men instead of his own. Wrote this page. Electrician's apprentice, so he's the one who gets asked when somebody's modem keeps dropping, and he doesn't know either.
Crowbait
Feb. '99
Pocatello
Dark The thrall wall. Give him a pile of thrall and a place to stand and he'll stand there until the sun burns out. Has never once in seven months been in a hurry. Held the hill on September 23 with what was left, which is why we're on a streak.
Marrow
Feb. '99
Salt Lake City
Light Dwarves. Has blown up more of us than of them, over the whole seven months, but the gap is closing and he wants credit for that. Throws long. If you hear him type "MOVE" in capital letters, move.
Tallow
Mar. '99
Tacoma
Light Archers. The best line of archers in the order, always behind the warriors, always on the high ground. On leave since September 3, when his son was born. We expect him back around the time the kid sleeps through the night, so, spring.
Harrow
Mar. '99
Bakersfield
Dark Ghols, and anything else that's fast. First man to the ball in Steal the Bacon, every time. Responsible, directly, for two of our rules. A good man with a cousin.
Lantern
Apr. '99
Omaha
Light Warriors and Heron Guard, out front, holding the line so the archers can work. The only one of us who has read the whole manual. Keeps the order's notebook of who beat us and how. Picked out the card with the duck.
Wick
May '99
Halifax, N.S.
Dark Wights. Walks them quietly into a crowd, and then there isn't a crowd. Our one Canadian. Order night starts at midnight his time, and he's never missed one. Apologizes after he blows something up. Means it about half the time.
Rook
June '99
Missoula
Light Berserks. Doesn't wait for anybody, doesn't need to. Newest man in the order and already the one the other side types about. Has been told about rule 1 more than any man alive.

In Reserve

With Tallow on leave we're seven most nights, which is fine for four on four and a problem for anything bigger. We're not looking to fill his spot. We are looking for one more man who'd like to play the odd Thursday as a guest and not quit when it goes bad. See the bottom of the front page.
