Baby-Sitters Club Books!!

Hi!!! My name is Alison and I am 10 years old and I'm in fifth grade. I live in Connecticut, just like Stoneybrook!! I looked for Stoneybrook on our big Connecticut map and it isn't on there, but my mom says that's because Ann M. Martin made it up, so you can't drive there. It still feels like it's right down the road to me.

I LOVE the Baby-sitters Club. I have read 63 BSC books so far (I keep a list on the inside of my closet door). I got my first ones in a big box from my cousin Rachel when she got too old for them, and the rest come from the library and the book fair at school. My favorite thing to do is read them in the big chair in our living room with the afghan my grandma made.

And I write my own BSC books!!! They have all the real BSC girls in them, plus a NEW girl I made up named Kathryn, who moves to Stoneybrook and wants to join the club more than anything. Book #1 is done. You can read it here:

Kristy Thomas – President. The whole club was HER idea, because her mom couldn't find a baby-sitter for her little brother David Michael. She is loud and bossy but in a good way. She coaches a softball team for little kids called Kristy's Krushers.

Claudia Kishi – Vice-president. The meetings are in her room because she has her own phone with her own private number!!! She is an amazing artist and she has the coolest clothes and she hides junk food all over her room. She is not a very good speller. (I'm a pretty good speller but my mom checks anyway.)

Mary Anne Spier – Secretary. She keeps the record book with everybody's schedules and all the clients in it, and she never makes a mistake. She is shy and she cries at sad movies (ME TOO). She has a gray kitten named Tigger and her boyfriend is Logan.

Stacey McGill – Treasurer. She is from New York City and she is really sophisticated and really good at math. She collects the dues on Mondays. She has diabetes so she has to be careful what she eats.

Dawn Schafer – She is from California and she loves health food. Her mom married Mary Anne's dad, so they are stepsisters! Dawn moved back to California to live with her dad and her brother, so she isn't at the meetings anymore. I miss her and I'm not even in the club.

Abby Stevenson – The newest member. She is really funny and she has a twin sister! She's in Kathryn's book a tiny bit.

Mallory Pike – Junior officer. She's 11 and in sixth grade. She has SEVEN brothers and sisters!!! She wants to write and illustrate children's books when she grows up. So do I!

Jessi Ramsey – Junior officer and Mallory's best friend. She is a really good ballet dancer. She has a baby brother everybody calls Squirt.

How I write my books: First I write them in a purple notebook, at the kitchen table after homework. Then I type them on our computer, which takes forever because I type with two fingers. Then my mom reads it for spelling. My dad showed me how to make this page. He says I am the only one in our family with a home page, so I am the family webmaster now.

Coming soon: Book #2! It is called Kathryn's First Job and I am on chapter 2. Something goes wrong at a birthday party. I'm not telling what!!
