Welcome!
Hi everyone! I made this page so all our family and friends, especially the ones who can't be there, can follow along with the countdown. I'm the librarian in this couple, so of course I made a web page. Steve says he is "the budget department." He's going to regret putting that in writing.

How we met
In the spring of 1995, a tall guy in a Red Sox cap came up to the reference desk at the public library where I work and asked for a repair manual for an '86 Celica. We had one, but it was reference only, so he couldn't take it home. So he came back the next Saturday to photocopy the next chapter. And the Saturday after that. By the fourth Saturday I had figured out that nobody's car needs that much fixing, and he had figured out that I'd figured it out, and he asked me to go get coffee. (The Celica died that August anyway.)

The proposal
Christmas Eve, 1996, at my parents' house. Steve gave me a big flat box, and inside was an old wooden drawer from a library card catalog that he'd found at a surplus sale. It was full of cards he'd typed himself, one for every date we'd been on, filed in order. The last card in the back said "Will you marry me?" and the ring was tied to it with a red ribbon. My mother cried harder than I did. I said yes before I finished reading the card.

The wedding party

Maid of honor: Maureen, my big sister
Bridesmaids: Trish, Angela, and Nicole (Steve's sister)
Best man: Paul, Steve's brother
Groomsmen: Eddie, Raj, and my brother Brian
Flower girl: Katie, age 5, who has been practicing in the hallway with a bag of cotton balls
Ring bearer: Danny, age 4, who has been told the rings are "very important" and may never recover

The details

Ceremony: 2:00 in the afternoon at my parents' church (the one I was baptized in, for those who need reminding)
Reception: Cocktails at 5:00, dinner at 6:00, at the Lakeview Function Hall
Out-of-town guests: We have a block of rooms at the hotel by the Pike exit. Ask for the Brodeur-Dziedzic wedding. The block is held until October 3.
Registry: The department store at the mall, and the kitchen shop downtown. (Steve would like it known that he registered for a blender "on principle.")
Honeymoon: Seven nights in Bermuda!!
