Game No. 3, "Autumn Crisis" · The Press
Bulletin  ◆  Results by Season  ◆  The Press

Press releases from the Great Powers, printed as received, newest first. White press is signed by the power that sent it. Grey press is anonymous, and you'll have to guess. The Gamemaster vouches for none of it, and would advise you to believe about half.

Winter 1902 · white press
CONSTANTINOPLE, from the Kingdom of Italy. The Italian fleet wishes to assure the people of Constantinople that nothing will change except the flag, the language, the coffee, and the ownership of everything. Otherwise, business as usual.
Winter 1902 · white press
SEVASTOPOL, from the Ottoman Empire. The Sultan's army thanks the Tsar's fleet for leaving the door open, the lamps lit, and a pot of tea on the stove. We have taken the liberty of rearranging the furniture.
Winter 1902 · white press
ST. PETERSBURG, from the Russian Empire. The Tsar would like it recorded that the Black Sea is now entirely Russian, which was the goal all along, and that the temporary guests in Sevastopol will be shown out shortly.
Fall 1902 · white press
PARIS, from the French Republic. The Republic thanks the Channel Fleet for its interest in Brittany and regrets that there was no room at the inn. The Republic also notices that a certain army in Belgium chose this exact moment to visit Picardy, and the Republic has a long memory.
Fall 1902 · grey press
Somebody in Berlin is writing very long letters to Paris. Somebody in London should ask what's in them.
Spring 1902 · white press
VIENNA, from Austria-Hungary. The Empire regrets any inconvenience to Turkish forces in Bulgaria. We did send a note first. It must have been lost in the post.
Spring 1902 · grey press
Belgian waffles: now available with sauerkraut.
Winter 1901 · white press
CONSTANTINOPLE, from the Ottoman Empire. The Sublime Porte wishes it known that nothing happened in the Black Sea this autumn, and that anyone who says otherwise is being dramatic.
Fall 1901 · white press
ST. PETERSBURG, from the Russian Empire. The Tsar notes with interest the appearance of a Turkish fleet in the Black Sea and awaits the Sultan's explanation, which he is sure will be very creative.
Fall 1901 · grey press
An Italian army has been seen on the beach at Tunis, wearing sunglasses and asking where the good restaurants are.
Spring 1901 · white press
LONDON, from the United Kingdom. His Majesty's Government announces that the North Sea is open for business, and would like to remind everyone that "business" is a word with many meanings.
Spring 1901 · white press
ROME, from the Kingdom of Italy. Italy is at peace with all nations and has no plans of any kind. Please disregard the fleet.

Send press to [email protected] with PRESS in the subject line. Mark it white or grey. Keep it clean; my students sometimes read this page.
