S1901 · F1901 · W1901 · S1902 · F1902 · W1902

Orders are listed exactly as adjudicated. A move with no note succeeded. "Bounce" means two or more units tried for the same space with equal strength and none got in. "Cut" means a supporting unit was attacked, so its support didn't count.

Spring 1901 · due Sunday, August 29, 1999
Austria: A Vie - Gal (bounce); A Bud - Ser; F Tri - Alb
England: F Lon - NTH; F Edi - NWG; A Lvp - Yor
France: F Bre - MAO; A Par - Bur; A Mar - Spa
Germany: F Kie - Den; A Ber - Kie; A Mun - Ruh
Italy: F Nap - ION; A Rom - Apu; A Ven H
Russia: A War - Gal (bounce); A Mos - Ukr; F Sev - BLA (bounce); F StP(sc) - Bot
Turkey: F Ank - BLA (bounce); A Con - Bul; A Smy - Arm

GM's note: About as traditional an opening as I've ever seen. Two bounces, both the ones everybody expects. Italy is sitting very still in Venice, which in my experience means somebody in the Balkans should worry.

Fall 1901 · due Monday, September 6, 1999 (extended for Labor Day)
Austria: F Alb - Gre; A Ser S F Alb - Gre; A Vie - Gal (bounce)
England: F NTH C A Yor - Nwy; A Yor - Nwy; F NWG - Bar
France: F MAO - Por; A Bur - Bel (bounce); A Spa H
Germany: F Den H; A Kie - Hol; A Ruh - Bel (bounce)
Italy: F ION C A Apu - Tun; A Apu - Tun; A Ven H
Russia: F Bot - Swe; A Ukr - Rum; F Sev S A Ukr - Rum (cut); A War - Gal (bounce)
Turkey: A Bul H; F Ank - BLA; A Arm - Sev (bounce)

GM's note: Turkey walks into the Black Sea while Russia is busy supporting, and pokes at Sevastopol for good measure. The Sevastopol attack bounced, but it cut the support. Russia got Rumania anyway, since nobody else was trying for it. Belgium stays neutral after France and Germany bump heads. Italy's Lepanto convoy lands in Tunis right on schedule.

Supply centers: Austria 5, England 4, France 5, Germany 5, Italy 4, Russia 6, Turkey 4. Neutral: Bel.

Spring 1902 · due Sunday, September 12, 1999
Austria: A Ser - Bul; F Gre S A Ser - Bul; A Bud - Ser; A Vie H; F Tri H
England: F Lon - ENG; F NTH S A Ruh - Bel; F Bar H; A Nwy H
France: F Por - MAO; A Par - Pic; A Bur - Bel (fails); A Spa - Gas; A Mar H

Italy: F ION - AEG; F Nap - ION; A Tun H; A Ven H
Russia: A Rum S A Ser - Bul (cut); F Sev S A Rum (cut); A Mos - Ukr; A War H; F Swe H; A StP H
Turkey: F BLA - Rum (bounce); A Bul S F BLA - Rum (cut, dislodged); A Arm - Sev (bounce); F Ank - Con

Dislodged: Turkish A Bul, by Austria from Ser. No retreat available: disbanded.

GM's note: A busy one. In the west, England and Germany turn out to have been talking. Three to one into Belgium, and the French army in Burgundy can only watch. In the east, Turkey went for Rumania and Austria went for Bulgaria at the same time. Both Russian supports were cut, but it didn't matter for Austria, who still had the fleet in Greece. Two against one, and the Turkish army had nowhere to go. Every space around Bulgaria was full.

Fall 1902 · due Sunday, September 19, 1999
Austria: A Bul S F AEG - Con; F Gre H; A Ser H; A Vie H; F Tri H
England: F ENG - Bre (bounce); F NTH H; F Bar H; A Nwy H
France: F MAO - Bre (bounce); A Pic S F MAO - Bre (cut); A Bur H; A Mar S A Bur; A Gas H
Germany: A Bel - Pic (bounce); A Mun - Bur (fails); A Hol H; F Hel H; F Den H
Italy: F AEG - Con; F ION - EMS; A Tun H; A Ven H
Russia: F Sev - BLA; A Rum S F Sev - BLA; A Ukr H; A War H; F Swe H; A StP H
Turkey: F Con H (dislodged); F BLA S F Con (cut, dislodged); A Arm - Sev

Dislodged: Turkish F Con, by Italy from AEG. May retreat to Smy or Ank.
Turkish F BLA, by Russia from Sev. May retreat to Ank or Arm.

Retreats (due Wednesday, September 22): F Con - Smy; F BLA - Ank.

GM's note: The English fleet knocked on the door at Brest and France slammed it, with a little help from Germany, who attacked Picardy and cut the French support. Nobody got in. Germany's own try for Burgundy ran into the army from Marseilles.

In the east, Turkey lost Constantinople and both fleets were thrown out of their spaces, but look at Sevastopol. When the Russian fleet sailed out to hit the Black Sea, the Turkish army in Armenia walked right in behind it. Turkey is down to three centers, and one of them is Russian. I've run a lot of games and I still love a turn like that.

Supply centers: Austria 6, England 4, France 5, Germany 6, Italy 5, Russia 5, Turkey 3.
Changes: Germany gains Bel. Italy gains Con. Austria gains Bul. Turkey gains Sev, loses Con and Bul. Russia loses Sev.

Winter 1902 · due Wednesday, September 22, 1999

Germany builds F Kie
Italy builds F Nap
Russia removes F Swe
England, France and Turkey: no change.

GM's note: Spring 1903 orders are due Sunday, September 26. Current positions are on the bulletin. Good luck to all seven of you. You'll need it.
