I UNLOCKED ALL 4 SECRET CHARACTERS!!! NEW: Friday records are up!!! Jasmine is winning. For now!!!

Hi!!! I'm Antonio and I'm 12. I got Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64 when it came out in April and I have played it pretty much every day since then. (Not on school nights. OK, a little on school nights.)

Every Friday my cousins come over and we play 4 players until my mom says it's time to go home, and then we play one more. You can see who's winning on the FRIDAY RECORDS page!!

The baseball is because my favorite item is the Home-Run Bat. There's no bat picture so it's the ball.

THE 8 CHARACTERS!!

These are the ones you have when you first turn it on. I gave everybody a grade like school. B is the button for special moves, and you do different ones by pushing up or down while you press B.

MARIO    Grade: B+
Good at everything, not the best at anything. Fireballs are B. Up+B is the Super Jump Punch and coins come out when it hits, which is funny. Down+B is the Mario Tornado. Good for learning the game.

DONKEY KONG    Grade: A-
He's huge so he gets hit a lot, but his punch!!! Press B and he winds up his arm, and then press B again when it's swinging all the way around and it's the Giant Punch. It KOs people. Down+B makes him slap the ground. He can pick people up and carry them off the edge which is mean. Peter does this to me all the time.

LINK    Grade: B
Boomerang is B, bomb is Down+B, and Up+B is the Spin Attack. He's a little slow and he doesn't jump very good. His hookshot (the grab) is long though.

SAMUS    Grade: B+
Hold B and she charges her Charge Shot, and you can let go and save it for later! Fully charged it's really strong. Up+B is the Screw Attack and Down+B she turns into a ball and drops a bomb.

YOSHI    Grade: B-
B eats people and turns them into an egg!! Up+B throws eggs and Down+B is the Yoshi Bomb where he jumps up and stomps. His second jump is really high but he has no up special to save himself, so if you fall far you're done.

KIRBY    Grade: A
Jasmine's guy. He can jump like 5 times so you can't knock him off. B sucks people in and he can steal their power, like if he eats Samus he gets the Charge Shot. Down+B turns him into a rock and he falls on you. Up+B is Final Cutter. Kirby is cute but he is NOT nice.

FOX    Grade: A
Brian's guy. He's SO fast. B is his blaster, Down+B is the Reflector that bounces shots back, and Up+B is Fire Fox where he flies at you on fire. Brian is really good with him and it's annoying.

PIKACHU    Grade: A+
The best one in my opinion. Down+B makes lightning come down out of the sky on him and it hits everybody next to him. Up+B is Quick Attack and you can zig zag in 2 directions. B is Thunder Jolt that goes along the ground. Everybody wants to be Pikachu so we have a rule (it's on the Friday page).

THE 4 SECRET CHARACTERS!!!

There are 4 more people you can get. When you do the right thing, after it's done the game says somebody is challenging you and you have to fight that person by yourself. If you beat them, you get them!!! Here's how to do all 4. These are all TRUE because I did every one myself.

LUIGI
How: Beat Break the Targets (it's Bonus 1 Practice, in the 1P menu) with all 8 of the regular characters. ALL 8. Then Luigi shows up.
How hard: Medium. Yoshi's targets took me forever because of no up special. DK too.
His moves: Like Mario but his fireballs are green and go straight, and his jump punch is really strong if you hit right at the start. Down+B is the Luigi Cyclone.

NESS
How: Beat the whole 1-Player game with 3 lives and DON'T use any continues. If you lose all 3 lives even once it doesn't count.
How hard: HARD!!! The Metal Mario part almost got me. I did it on Normal with Pikachu.
His moves: B is PK Fire. Up+B is PK Thunder, and the trick is you steer the lightning ball around and hit YOURSELF with it and then Ness flies. It's hard to do. Down+B is PSI Magnet. He also has a yo-yo and a baseball bat!! (Ness is from a game called EarthBound. I never played it. My cousin Brian says it's good.)

CAPTAIN FALCON
How: Beat the 1-Player game in less than 20 minutes.
How hard: Medium. Put it on easy and pick somebody fast and don't mess around on the bonus stages.
His moves: The FALCON PUNCH!!! It's B. It takes a long time to wind up but if it hits it's awesome and there's a big bird made of fire. Up+B is Falcon Dive and Down+B is Falcon Kick. He's my guy now. He's from F-Zero.

JIGGLYPUFF
How: Just beat the 1-Player game, any way.
How hard: EASY. This is the one you'll probably get first.
Her moves: She floats forever. B is Pound. Up+B is Sing and it puts people to sleep. Down+B is Rest, she falls asleep and if somebody is touching her right then they go FLYING. Everybody laughs at Jigglypuff until she Rests on them.

THEN!!! After you have all 4 secret characters you get a new stage too, the Mushroom Kingdom. It looks like the old Super Mario Bros. with the pipes and the bricks and there's a POW block. More about it on the stages page.

Tips for the challenges: They fight you by themselves, just 1 on 1. Don't try anything fancy. Use the guy you're best with. If they're up on a platform, wait for them to come down.
