*** NOW OPEN!!! THE PURPLE PANIC at Evergreen Gardens!!! 3 loops and 2 corkscrews!!! Please do not eat a hamburger first!!! ***

Hi!!! I'm Simone and I'm 12 and I am a ROLLER COASTER TYCOON!!! (In the computer anyway. In real life I am in 7th grade.)

I got RollerCoaster Tycoon in April because I begged for it for like a month after I saw it at the store. My dad said it looked like a game for grown-ups because you have to do money and loans and stuff. Well guess what, I have beaten FIVE parks and he has beaten zero. (He tried Forest Frontiers once and built a merry-go-round and a hot dog stand and then went to bed.)

On this page are all my parks, the coasters I built in them, my tips, and the day my coaster CRASHED. And there is a whole other page for my Coaster Hall of Fame with my ten best rides and the funniest things my guests have thought!!

~*~ MY PARKS ~*~
(in the order I beat them!!)

#1 Forest Frontiers
This is the first one, in a big clearing in the woods. It's the easy one but I didn't know ANYTHING yet so it took me three tries. The first time I made the entrance cost too much and nobody came in. The second time I ran out of money because I built a giant coaster before I had any food stands. Oops!!

Coasters I built: the Cotton Candy Express (a wooden coaster that goes around the trees) and Lightning Lap (go karts, which isn't a coaster but everybody LOVES it).

When I won: 703 guests, park rating 742.

#2 Dynamite Dunes
Desert park!! Everything is sand. It already has a coaster when you start but it is kind of boring so I built better ones. I sold LOTS of drinks here because it seemed like a hot place, and I put the river rapids right by the entrance so people would get splashed and be happy.

Coasters I built: the Sand Snake (a mine train coaster that goes in and out of the rocks) and The Whirlwind (river rapids, not a coaster, but I'm proud of it).

When I won: 812 guests, park rating 788.

#3 Leafy Lake
This one has a really big lake in the middle and you start from nothing. I made my coasters go out over the water because it looks so cool when the train goes zooming over the lake. My little sister Nicole (she's 9) helped me name the inverted coaster. She named it after herself. Of course.

Coasters I built: Nicole's Nightmare (inverted coaster, your feet hang down!!) and Splish Splash Falls (log flume).

When I won: 684 guests, park rating 810.

#4 Diamond Heights (FINALLY!!!)
OK this one almost made me quit. Diamond Heights already has a whole park in it when you start, with coasters and everything, on big hills. And for this one you don't need a certain number of guests, you have to make the park worth a lot more money. Park value, it's called. I lost it TWO times.

How I finally beat it:
  • I stopped building tons of little cheap rides. Big rides make your park worth more.
  • I fixed up the old rides instead of letting them break down all the time. I hired more mechanics and made them check the rides more often.
  • I did NOT take out a bunch of loans. Last time I took out the whole loan and I couldn't pay for anything.
  • I built two new coasters on the hills, because hills are free height!! You don't have to build the track up so high if you start at the top of a hill.
  • I saved my game every year so if something bad happened I could go back. (My dad told me that one. OK he helped a LITTLE.)
Coasters I built: Diamond Dragon (bobsled coaster) and Rainbow Rocket (stand-up coaster, you ride standing up!!).

When I won: 921 guests, park rating 803. I screamed so loud my mom came running in because she thought I got hurt.

#5 Evergreen Gardens
This one is really pretty with flower gardens everywhere. You need more guests than any of the others so far but you get more years to do it. I made my coasters go around the gardens instead of knocking them down because they're too pretty. The handymen have to water the flowers or they die, so I hired a LOT of handymen.

Coasters I built: Hammerhead (suspended coaster, it swings!!) and my newest and BEST one, THE PURPLE PANIC (corkscrew coaster, 3 loops, 2 corkscrews, painted purple of course).

When I won: 1,108 guests, park rating 856. My best park EVER!!!

SIMONE'S TOP TIPS FOR HAPPY GUESTS
  1. Hire handymen. Then hire MORE handymen. People throw trash everywhere and then they throw up everywhere. If your paths are gross your guests get grumpy and your park rating goes down.
  2. Hire mechanics too. Make them inspect your rides a lot. A broken ride with a long line is the saddest thing in the whole game.
  3. Benches and trash cans EVERYWHERE. Along every path. Guests get tired and need to sit. And if there's no trash can they just drop it on the ground. (Like my brother. Just kidding I don't have a brother.)
  4. Sell umbrellas when it rains!! The information kiosk sells them. When it starts raining, everybody wants one. Ka-ching!!
  5. Don't put the food right next to the coaster exit. People eat a hamburger, go on a coaster, and then... yeah. Put food stands by the gentle rides instead.
  6. Don't make a coaster SO intense that everybody throws up. I learned this the hard way with a coaster I named the Barf-o-Matic. It went straight down into a loop into another loop into a corkscrew. The intensity was over 10!! Nobody would even get in line. The guests all just stood there thinking it looked too intense. I had to tear it down. RIP Barf-o-Matic.
  7. Put some gentle rides in too. Not everybody likes coasters. Some guests won't go on anything scary, and they want a merry-go-round and a Ferris wheel. (Like my mom in real life.)
  8. Don't charge too much. If guests think it costs too much, they won't go on. Check what they're thinking. They will tell you!!

THE DAY MY COASTER CRASHED
This was at Leafy Lake. Nicole's Nightmare was super popular and the line went all the way back to the bathrooms. So I thought, I'll just put two trains on it so more people can ride! Smart, right?

WRONG. The first train went really slow over the top of one of the hills, and the second train came around and SMASHED right into it. There was an explosion and smoke and everything. The ride got shut down and the message at the bottom said guests died. (It's only a game, Mom!!) Then for a long time people kept saying my rides weren't safe and my park rating went way down. Nicole was really mad because it was HER coaster.

What I learned: if you put more than one train on a coaster, make sure they can't catch up to each other. And save your game first!!!
