Maddie's Mixed-Up Stories!!
fill-in-the-blank stories that I made up MYSELF

*** GET A PENCIL!!! *** NO PEEKING AT THE STORY FIRST!!! *** NEW STORY ON THE SECOND PAGE!!! ***

Hi!! My name is Maddie and I am 11 and I live in Oregon. I LOVE those fill-in-the-blank word books where you say a bunch of words and then the story comes out all silly. We had them in the car on our trip to see my cousins and I laughed so hard I got the hiccups for like an hour. So I decided to make up my own and put them on the Internet so everybody can do them. My dad helped me make the page but I wrote every single story.

How to play:

  1. Get a pencil and a piece of paper (or print this page out if your printer works).
  2. Get somebody else to play with you. It's funnier with two people!!
  3. Read them the WORD LIST only. Do not let them see the story!!!
  4. Write down their words next to the numbers.
  5. Now read the story out loud and put their words in the blanks.
  6. Laugh until you get the hiccups.

Word Help (in case you forgot)

NOUN = a person, place or thing. Like dog, school or pizza.
PLURAL NOUN = more than one. Like socks or pickles.
VERB = something you do. Like jump or sneeze.
VERB ENDING IN -ING = like jumping or sneezing.
ADJECTIVE = a word that describes something. Like smelly or purple.
ADVERB = how you do something. It usually ends in -ly. Like loudly.
EXCLAMATION = something you yell. Like Yikes! or Holy cow!

(My teacher last year said I explain this better than the book. She said that to be nice but I'm putting it here anyway.)

Now it lives in a cage with a lock on it and  (7)  still won't look at it. Nobody got hurt except my  (12) , which I bumped on the door. THE END.

Here's how Story #1 came out when my DAD did it:

Last Friday the most greasy thing happened in our class. Our class pet, a moose named Captain Pancake, got out of its cage! First we looked in the gym. No Captain Pancake. Then a boy in my class said he saw it eating a meatloaf behind the bookshelf. Then somebody saw it moonwalking across the lunch table! Mrs. Noodleberry screamed and stood on a chair. The whole class chased it with canoes. Finally it ran into the principal's office, sat right on his sparkly desk, and went "BOING!" It took 4,000 kids to catch it. Now it lives in a cage with a lock on it and Mrs. Noodleberry still won't look at it. Nobody got hurt except my elbow, which I bumped on the door. THE END.

My dad laughed so hard at "chased it with canoes" that he had to go stand in the kitchen. My mom said she's never seen him laugh that hard at anything she said.
