KING'S CROSS STATION 9 ¾ |
|
About Me My name is Theo and I am 11, which is the same age Harry was when Hagrid came to get him. My letter has not come yet. I am still checking the mail every day. (My mom says the owls might not know our address in Michigan. She is probably right.) My mom read me the first book out loud last winter. I read the second one by myself in June, the week it came out here. The third one came out in America on Wednesday, September 8, and I finished it on Saturday, and I think it is the best one yet. My mom helped me with the HTML for this page but I wrote all the words. |
The Books (so far)
There are going to be seven, one for each year Harry is at Hogwarts. They are by J.K. Rowling, who lives in Scotland and wrote the first one in cafes in Edinburgh. Right now all three are on the New York Times best-seller list at the same time. My teacher read that to our class. She has read them too. |

Who's Who Harry Potter — Lives in a cupboard under the stairs at the Dursleys' until he finds out he's a wizard. Has a lightning bolt scar. Plays Seeker for Gryffindor and was the youngest house player in a century. His owl is Hedwig. Ron Weasley — Harry's best friend. Has five older brothers and one little sister and never has anything new. He is really funny and really brave and scared of spiders. My favorite, actually. Hermione Granger — Knows EVERYTHING. At first they think she's annoying but she saves them about a hundred times. My sister Ivy (she's 9) says Hermione is the real hero and I am starting to think she might be right. Hagrid — The giant gamekeeper. Loves dangerous animals and thinks they are cute. They are not cute. Professor Dumbledore — The headmaster. The greatest wizard alive. Likes candy. Professor Snape — Teaches Potions and hates Harry. Head of Slytherin. I still can't figure him out. Draco Malfoy — Slytherin. Rich. Mean. Has two big friends named Crabbe and Goyle who never say anything. Fred and George Weasley — Ron's twin brothers. Beaters. The funniest people at Hogwarts. Neville Longbottom — Forgets everything and his toad keeps escaping. But in book 1 he stands up to his own friends, and Dumbledore gives him points for it, and that's one of my favorite parts. |

Quidditch for Muggles It's played on broomsticks, seven on a team, with four balls. • Chasers (3) throw the Quaffle through the hoops. 10 points. • The Keeper (1) guards the hoops. • Beaters (2) hit the Bludgers away with bats. Bludgers try to knock you off your broom. • The Seeker (1) tries to catch the Golden Snitch, which is tiny and has wings. It's worth 150 points and the game is over when somebody catches it. I tried to explain it to my grandpa and he said it sounded like cricket. I don't know what cricket is. |

BOOK 3 SPOILER ZONE Lots of people are still reading Prisoner of Azkaban, so the spoilers are hidden. Highlight the empty space below with your mouse to read them. Don't say I didn't warn you!! Sirius Black didn't do it! He is Harry's godfather! Scabbers is really a man named Peter Pettigrew! Professor Lupin is a werewolf but he's the best teacher Harry ever had! And Hermione has been using a Time-Turner all year to get to all her classes. Also Harry gets a Firebolt for Christmas and nobody knows who sent it. I read the last part twice. |

My Diagon Alley Shopping List 1. A wand from Ollivanders (holly, like Harry's) 2. Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans (but I would let Ivy try them first) 3. A whole box of Chocolate Frogs, for the cards 4. An owl. My mom says we have a dog and that's enough animals. Hedwig would get along with Buster, I bet. 5. A Firebolt. I would need a lot of Galleons. |
