• The Henderson Family Home Page (November 1998)
  Linda learned her HTML from a library book, and it's a nice, warm page. Don't miss Grandma Ruth's Kitchen.
  
  
• The Nguyen Family: Our First Ten Years in Iowa (May 1999)
  Written by the parents in Vietnamese and put into English by their daughter. The part about their first winter made Gladys cry. Read it with your children.
  
  
• The Petersen Place (August 1999)
  A farm wife in North Dakota who had never touched a computer until this summer. We're practically neighbors here on Plains, and she writes like she's sitting across the kitchen table from you.

School and Scouting

• Mrs. Bell's Kindergarten Class (September 1999)
  Our quickest Seal yet: she wrote us the week she put the page up. A teacher who puts her class news on the Web every Friday so it doesn't get lost at the bottom of a backpack.
  
  
• Girl Scout Troop 4127 (September 1999)
  Notice that there are no girls' names or pictures anywhere on it. That is exactly right, and we wish more club pages did the same.
  
  
• The Pinewood Derby Workshop (March 1999)
  A den leader's guide to building a fast car that the boy builds himself. Charlie built derby cars with our son thirty years ago and says the advice holds up.

Learning and Doing Together

• Science at Home (July 1999)
  Kitchen experiments by a chemist who is also a mom, with real explanations and good safety notes. Kimberly did three of them at our table.
  
  
• Family Camping for Beginners (September 1999)
  A family's first summer in a tent, rain and all. Honest and funny, with a gear list.

Church and Kitchen

• Church Potluck Cookbook (August 1999)
  Fifty years of recipes from a church Ladies' Aid. Gladys made the Tater Tot hot dish for our own church supper and came home with an empty pan.

Movies

• The Meade Family Movie Guide (April 1999)
  The only movie page we've ever given the Seal. Larry tells you plainly what's in a movie before you take the kids, and he keeps his own page as clean as the movies he recommends.
