CASE FILE 3 · RESTRICTED
Things you unlock, things you find, and things you should know only after you've finished the game at least once. Each part has its own warning. Read as far as you want and stop.

SMALL SPOILER BELOW: UNLOCKABLES
|
> RANKS AND SPECIAL WEAPONS
At the end of every scenario you get a rank. It goes up the faster you finish and the fewer times you save. Get a good rank and the game gives you a reward for the next time through. The first one I ever got was a rocket launcher with unlimited ammo. I used it on a single zombie in the first alley. It was worth it.
> THE SPECIAL KEY
On your first scenario, if you run all the way to the police station without picking up a single item, a zombie shows up outside that you may recognize: it's Brad Vickers, the helicopter pilot from the first game. He did not make it. Take him down and he drops the Special Key, which opens a locker in the darkroom. Inside are new clothes for your character. They don't do anything. They're great anyway.

BIGGER SPOILER BELOW: BONUS GAMES
|
> THE 4TH SURVIVOR
Finish both halves of one story (an A scenario and its B scenario) with top ranks, and a new game opens up starring HUNK, a soldier who has to get from the sewers all the way up to the roof of the police station. You get what he starts with and nothing else. No item boxes, no typewriters, no herbs lying around. It's the hardest thing in the game and the most fun I've had with it. Tip: don't fight what you can run past. Every bullet counts.
> THE TOFU
Keep playing and beating the game well and eventually you unlock the same run as HUNK, except you're a giant block of tofu armed with a knife. I am not making this up. The exact rule for unlocking it is complicated and people online argue about it, and I don't want to guess wrong, so I'll just say: I got it after a lot of playing. It is the hardest thing I have ever done in a video game and I did it as bean curd.

STORY SPOILERS BELOW: STOP IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED
|
> ABOUT ADA
She tells Leon she's looking for her boyfriend. That's not really why she's there. She's after the same thing everybody in the lab is after, the virus Sherry's parents made. Pay attention to her in both scenarios and it all adds up.
> ABOUT SHERRY
The little girl Claire keeps finding isn't just some kid who got lost. Her mom and dad are the scientists at the center of the whole thing. Claire's scenario is really about getting her out alive. Don't skip the files you find in the lab. They explain a lot.
> RUMORS THAT ARE FALSE
- No, you can't play as Chris. Claire is looking for him, but he's not in this one.
- No, you can't get special weapons on your very first game. You have to earn them.
- No, there's no code to make the guy in the coat go away. Believe me, I've looked.
