Rams who did something great this year. Nominations are open all year: e-mail me who and why. Students go by first name.
- Jeanne, valedictorian, with a 4.0 for all four years. Her speech at graduation made Mr. Robinette cry. He says he had something in his eye. For eleven minutes.
- Lawrence, salutatorian, and a National Merit Commended Student.
- Joseph, also a National Merit Commended Student.
- Knowledge Bowl: Stephen (captain), Jaime, Joy and Lawrence took second at regionals, our best finish ever. Coached by Mr. Traynor, who also teaches chemistry and has never once let us leave a lab without washing the beakers.
- Spanish Club raised the money to go to Mexico over spring break. Mrs. Ascencio chaperoned eighteen of us and came back with all eighteen, which she says is a personal record.
- Dustin placed 4th at state in wrestling at 152 pounds. Ridgeview's first state placer in wrestling since 1991.
- Meghan ran at the state cross country meet and finished 31st. First Ridgeview girl at state since 1989.
- Boys' basketball, league co-champions, 15-6. Mr. Currie's best team in nine years.
- Nathan, perfect attendance for four straight years, including the day after Homecoming. Legend.
- Bye Bye Birdie, directed by Mrs. Brathwaite. Three nights, three sellouts, a first. Hope was amazing as Kim.
- The jazz band got a Superior rating at the regional festival in April. Mr. Chichester says it's the best band he's had in 22 years of teaching, and he says that every year, but this year he meant it.
- The December food drive collected 4,212 cans, beating last year's school record by more than a thousand. The seniors won the class competition. Of course.
- Mrs. Wilborn, retiring this June after 31 years as our librarian. When I was a freshman she caught me hiding in the back of the stacks reading when I was supposed to be in PE. Instead of writing me up, she handed me a better book. Thank you, Mrs. Wilborn. We'll miss you.
- Mr. Elwell, who let me use the computer lab after school all year. Without him this page wouldn't exist. He also taught half the school how to type.
- Mrs. Myrick, our principal, who shook 214 hands on Saturday night and never stopped smiling.
