Hi! My name is Katie and I am 10 years old and I am in 5th grade. This is MY page! My mom helped me type some of it and she is the one who knows how to put it on the computer, but I wrote all the words and I picked the colors and the pictures. (Mom wanted blue. I won.) I got my own page because my best friend has one and also because Sprinkles deserves to be famous!!! Here is what's on my page: All About Sprinkles (my cat!!!) All About Sprinkles!!!

Sprinkles is my cat and she is the BEST cat in the whole world!!! She is 3 years old. She is white with gray spots and one gray ear and the other ear is white. I named her Sprinkles because when she was a kitten her spots looked like somebody sprinkled them on her. My little brother wanted to name her Batman. That is a dumb name for a girl cat. Things Sprinkles likes: Sleeping on my bed (on my PILLOW, right where my head goes) The crunchy kind of food, NOT the can kind Chasing the string from my mom's bathrobe Sitting in the window and making a weird clicking noise at birds Boxes. Any box. We got a new VCR and she liked the box more than we liked the VCR. Things Sprinkles does NOT like: The vacuum cleaner (she hides under the couch) Baths (we tried ONE time) My brother Thunder Sprinkles is really smart. When I come home from school she is waiting by the door. Mom says it's because she can hear the bus but I think she just knows. She also knows when it's 6:00 because that is dinner time and she sits by her bowl and stares at you. She can't tell time but she still knows!!! Picture of Sprinkles: Mom took a whole roll of pictures of Sprinkles but the film is still at the drugstore. When we get them back we are going to scan the best one at my aunt's house because she has a scanner. So check back!!! Sprinkles picture coming soon!!!

My Favorite Books!!!

I LOVE to read. My teacher says I am the best reader in my class but don't tell anybody I said that. 1. Harry Potter!!!!! If you have not read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone you HAVE to. It is about a boy who finds out he is a wizard and goes to a wizard school called Hogwarts. My mom read the first one to me and then I read the second one (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) all by myself in ONE WEEK. It came out this summer. And guess what!!! The THIRD one just came out on September 8th!!! It is called Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and my mom got it for me the same week and I am reading it RIGHT NOW. I am on chapter 9. I am not going to tell you anything that happens because that would be mean. My favorite character is Hermione because she is smart and has bushy hair like me. If Sprinkles was a wizard cat she would be Hermione's cat. 2. Ramona Quimby, Age 8 by Beverly Cleary. Ramona is funny and gets in trouble but not on purpose. I have read all the Ramona books. Also Beezus and Ramona. My brother is like Ramona except he does it on purpose. 3. The Boxcar Children. Four kids live in a train car in the woods and they find dishes in the dump and make a house out of the boxcar. I would like to live in a boxcar with Sprinkles. There are TONS of Boxcar Children books. I have read 11 of them. My favorite is still the first one. 4. The Mouse and the Motorcycle (also Beverly Cleary). A mouse rides a toy motorcycle. That is all you need to know. It is great. 5. Charlotte's Web. It made me cry but in a good way. Don't read the end at school. Books I want: the Prisoner of Azkaban is 435 pages so I will be busy for a while!!! But after that I want the next Ramona book if there is one and my friend says I should read the Babysitters Club so maybe those.

My Beanie Babies!!!

I have 14 Beanie Babies!!! They live on the shelf over my bed except for my bear who sleeps with me. Sprinkles is not allowed to touch them. (She touched the frog one time. It's okay now.) Here they are: My purple bear (my FAVORITE, I got him for my 8th birthday, he has a heart on his chest) A white cat with gray spots that looks EXACTLY like Sprinkles. That's why I got her. A green frog A brown monkey with a long tail A pink pig A black and white dog A yellow duck A gray elephant A turtle (green with a brown shell) A ladybug A blue and white whale A red lobster (from the ocean when we went on vacation) A lamb A dragon!!! (my brother wanted it. I got it. HA HA.) My mom keeps the tags on with those plastic tag protector things because she says they might be worth money someday. I don't care about that, I just like them. My aunt has like 60 and she keeps them in a glass case and won't let anybody touch them, which is not the point of a stuffed animal if you ask me. I am NOT trading!!! So don't ask. :)

Knock Knock Jokes!!!

These are the funniest jokes I know. You have to say "who's there" out loud or it doesn't work. Knock knock. Who's there? Lettuce. Lettuce who? Lettuce in, it's cold out here!!! Knock knock. Who's there? Boo. Boo who? Don't cry, it's just a joke!!! Knock knock. Who's there? Interrupting cow. Interrupting c-- MOOOOOO!!! (This one is my brother's favorite. He does it ALL DAY.) Knock knock. Who's there? Cows go. Cows go who? No silly, cows go MOO!!! Knock knock. Who's there? Banana. Banana who? Knock knock. Who's there? Banana. Banana who? Knock knock. Who's there? Orange. Orange who? Orange you glad I didn't say banana?!?! And one that is not a knock knock joke: What do you call a cat that eats lemons? A SOUR PUSS!!! (Get it? Sprinkles didn't laugh either.) If you know a good joke you can e-mail it to me and I will put it on here (Mom has to read it first).

5th Grade News!!!

School started 3 weeks ago and I am in 5th grade now which means we are the BIGGEST kids in the whole school!!! My teacher is really nice and she has a class hamster. His name is Peanut. Every Friday somebody gets to take Peanut home for the weekend and it's going to be my turn in October. Sprinkles will have to stay in the basement that weekend. Sorry Sprinkles. Things we are doing in 5th grade: We are learning long division. It is long. That's why they call it that. In science we are doing the solar system. Pluto is my favorite planet because it is the smallest and the farthest away and it takes 248 years to go around the sun one time!!! We each have to do a book report every month. Guess which book I am doing. (HARRY POTTER.) We started learning the recorder in music. My mom says I can only practice in my room with the door shut. In October we are going on a field trip to the science museum and I already turned in my permission slip on the FIRST DAY. Also I am in Girl Scouts (Juniors this year!) and I am trying to get my pet care badge, so Sprinkles is helping me with my homework for once.
