Every scrim since we moved to TF Classic in April. All matches on WON servers, usually theirs one week and ours the next. Friendly fire on, two halves, switch sides at the half. On 2fort, well and rock2 the score is in caps. On hunted it's in rounds, and we write down who carried the umbrella.
Record in TFC: 7 wins, 5 losses, 1 tie. |
| THE MATCH | WHAT HAPPENED |
| 9/23/99 vs. [WHM] well WON 4-2 |
Best we've played since the move. Stogie owned the middle. Jitney and Flicker took turns, one drawing the defense and the other going in, and they never once went at the same time. That's the first time they've listened to me about that. |
| 9/14/99 vs. =LoD= rock2 WON 3-2 |
Ratchet's first scrim with the tag. Two Engineers on defense and it showed: their last two runs both died at his gun. Mole got the winning cap set up with a feign death that went on so long we thought he'd lost his connection. |
| 8/26/99 vs. |TKO| hunted LOST 2-4 |
Civilian: Iodine. Lost the flip. Again. Got him out twice in three tries on our side, which is not bad for a guy with an umbrella. On their side, their bodyguards were just better than our Snipers. Stogie can't carry five rifles by himself. |
| 8/12/99 vs. (SoS) well WON 3-1 |
Short-handed, ten of us. Pierogi played the whole second half with his little brother yelling in the background. Kaboomski's pipe trap got two cappers in a row. It got Zippo too, but that's between them. |
| 8/5/99 vs. [WHM] 2fort TIED 2-2 |
Both sides sat on their flags for the last ten minutes and spammed grenades at the ramp. Nobody had fun. We agreed to a rematch on well, which became 9/23. |
| 7/20/99 vs. {DSF} rock2 WON 2-1 |
Our first win on rock2. We had lost a lot of practice games there and Pierogi made us run it on an empty server for two nights, learning every route in. It paid off. |
| 7/8/99 vs. =LoD= hunted LOST 2-4 |
Civilian: Iodine. Lost the flip. He got as far as he's ever gotten in round two before a Sniper found him. He typed a word I won't put on a family page. |
| 6/22/99 vs. (SoS) 2fort WON 5-1 |
They came at us across the bridge every time and Tinker's gun at the top of the ramp ate them. Our biggest win in TFC. Doc infected half their team and kept a running count in the chat. |
| 6/10/99 vs. [WHM] rock2 LOST 1-2 |
We didn't know the map. They did. That's the whole story. |
| 5/25/99 vs. |TKO| hunted WON 4-2 |
Civilian: Iodine. Lost the flip. Made it out all three times on our side, with Pierogi walking in front of him like a wall. This is the scrim Iodine wants us to talk about. So, here: good job, Iodine. |
| 5/13/99 vs. =LoD= well LOST 2-3 |
Close one. Lost it on a cap with forty seconds left when our whole defense was off chasing a Spy who turned out to be nothing. Mole says he'd have known. |
| 4/27/99 vs. {DSF} 2fort WON 3-2 |
First TFC win. Jitney capped the go-ahead flag through the water and then concussed himself into the moat celebrating. |
| 4/15/99 vs. [WHM] 2fort LOST 1-3 |
Our first scrim in TF Classic, eight days after it came out. Everybody kept walking into walls where the old doorways used to be. [WHM] said they'd been on it every night that week. It showed. |
| THE CIVILIAN TALLY On hunted, one guy on the Civilian's side has to be the Civilian. He gets an umbrella and nothing else, and the other side is all Snipers. We flip for it. Since April: Iodine 3 Everybody else 0 |
OLD QUAKEWORLD RECORD For history's sake: from the summer of 1997 to March of this year we played somewhere around a hundred scrims in QuakeWorld TF. I didn't keep a log back then, which I regret. Doc thinks we won about sixty. Pierogi thinks fifty. Let's say fifty-five and move on. |
