GeoCities.us is a community of people who build their own
home pages on the World Wide Web. We give every member, called a
Homesteader, free space for a personal Web site, easy tools to build
it, and a Neighborhood full of people who share the same interests.
Today more than three million Homesteaders have made a home with us.
Our mission is simple: to give everyone a voice on the Web.
Whether you want to show off your grandchildren, start a fan club, publish
your poetry or put your small business online, there's a place for you at

Our History |
|
| 1995 | GeoCities.us opens its doors in the fall with six Neighborhoods, a single server and 2 MB of free space for every member. |
| 1996 | The community passes 100,000 Homesteaders. Our first Community Leaders volunteer to welcome newcomers. |
| 1997 | Free space grows to 6 MB. We open our advertising sales office in New York, and in October welcome our 1 millionth Homesteader. |
| 1998 | GeoCities.us becomes a public company in May. Free space grows to 11 MB and membership passes 2 million in September. |
| 1999 | Five new Neighborhoods bring the total to 41. We launch Page Builder 2.0 and free e-mail, and welcome our 3 millionth Homesteader in September. |
