Q. What is GeoCities.us? GeoCities.us is a community where anyone can build a free home page on the World Wide Web. Members are called Homesteaders, and every home page lives in a themed Neighborhood.
Q. How much does it cost? Nothing. Home pages, e-mail and all of our building tools are free. GeoCities.us is supported by advertising.
Q. How much space do I get? Every Homesteader gets 11 MB, which is enough for dozens of pages and hundreds of pictures. You can check how much you've used in the File Manager.
Q. What will my address be? Your page's address includes your Neighborhood, a suburb and a street number, like http://www.geocities.us/Heartland/Prairie/6630/. Visitors who type it will see the file named index.html.
Q. How do I build my page? The easiest way is Page Builder 2.0. If you know HTML, use the Basic HTML Editor or build pages on your own computer and upload them with the File Manager or FTP.
Q. Why is there a bar at the top of my page? The GeoCities.us member bar helps visitors find their way around the Neighborhoods and supports our free service.
Q. I changed my page, but I still see the old one. Your browser may be showing a saved copy. In Netscape Navigator, hold Shift and click Reload. In Internet Explorer, hold Ctrl and click Refresh.
Q. Can I put my business on GeoCities.us? Yes! Small businesses are welcome to describe their products and services. Take a look at the WallStreet Neighborhood for ideas.
Q. How do I add a hit counter or guestbook? Both are one click away in Page Builder 2.0. You'll find counter digits and other goodies in our clip art library.
Q. I forgot my password. Use the "Forgot your password?" link in the Member Center, and we'll send it to the e-mail address on file.
