Terms of Service

Last revised July 15, 1999

Welcome to GeoCities.us. By becoming a Homesteader or using our service, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Membership. Membership is free. You must give us true and current registration information, and you are responsible for everything that happens under your member name. Children under 13 need a parent's permission.

2. Your home page. You own the content you create. By publishing it on GeoCities.us, you give us permission to store it and show it to visitors as part of the service.

3. Content Guidelines. Keep it friendly. You may not use GeoCities.us to publish material that is unlawful, obscene, hateful or harassing; that infringes anyone's copyright or trademark (including pirated software); that contains viruses; or that sends unsolicited commercial e-mail. Small businesses are welcome to describe their products and services. See the Content Guidelines for details.

4. Advertising and the member bar. GeoCities.us is supported by advertising. We may place a member bar or advertisements on member pages.

5. Space and inactivity. Each Homesteader receives 11 MB of space. We may remove pages that have been inactive for a long time, after notice by e-mail.

6. Ending your membership. You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

7. No warranty. The service is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Please keep copies of your files.

8. Limitation of liability. GeoCities.us is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

9. Changes. We may update these terms from time to time and will post the new version on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
