GeoCities.us Opens Five New Neighborhoods

Orchard, ResearchTriangle, Route66, SouthBeach and Wellesley bring the community to 41 Neighborhoods.

SANTA MONICA, Calif., January 19, 1999 — GeoCities.us today opened five new Neighborhoods, bringing the total to 41. The new Neighborhoods are Orchard, for gardening; ResearchTriangle, for science and research; Route66, for road trips and travel; SouthBeach, for nightlife and making friends; and Wellesley, for women's interests.

Each Neighborhood is a themed community where Homesteaders with similar interests build their pages side by side. Volunteer Community Leaders in every Neighborhood welcome new members and help them get started.

"Our Homesteaders asked for these Neighborhoods, and several of them volunteered to help run them," the company said. "The Orchard waiting list alone had more than 4,000 gardeners on it."
