GeoCities.us Launches Free E-mail for All Members

Every Homesteader can now claim a free [email protected] mailbox that works from any Web browser.

SANTA MONICA, Calif., August 2, 1999 — GeoCities.us today launched GeoCities.us Free E-mail, a free Web-based e-mail service for all of its Homesteaders. Members can now claim an address such as [email protected] and read and send mail from any computer with a Web browser, at home, at work, at school or at the library.

Each mailbox includes 3 MB of storage, an address book, folders for organizing messages and a junk mail filter. Homesteaders can activate their mailbox by signing in to the Member Center.

"Our members told us they wanted one place for their home page and their mail," the company said. "Now a Homesteader's e-mail address matches their home page, and it stays the same even if they change Internet providers."

GeoCities.us Free E-mail is supported by advertising and is free to all members.
